Maybe it’s because I feel hopeful after watching Amanda Gorman, the 22-year-old Poet Laureate, recite her exquisite poem at the Inauguration. Or maybe it’s just because, as someone whose color wheel consists of black, white and gray, a ray of sunshine is what I am longing for right now. I find myself shopping for pops of yellow for my Spring 2021 wardrobe. Yellow is the color of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and spring. There are so many creative ways to incorporate this sunny color into your wardrobe.
THE COAT
Amanda Gorman was striking in her yellow coat by Prada. I would not think to pair the coat with the bright red head band, also by Prada, but the combination on her was stunning. She positively radiated sunshine and optimism. Fun fact, Amanda Gorman wore the yellow coat after Dr. Jill Biden told her she loved it.

THE IT BAG
If you are not ready for head to toe yellow, a clutch or cross body bag in your favorite hue of yellow is a great way to add a pop of color that won’t overwhelm. Sunshine in your hand.

YELLOW T-SHIRT
A great way to add a ray of sunshine to any outfit is to switch out your white t-shirt for a yellow one. As always, the Gap has the perfect yellow t-shirt.
If you’re not sure how to wear it, throw on your favorite leather moto jacket and you’ve just made an outfit.
And for the really bold, reverse it by wearing a yellow leather jacket over a black t-shirt.
