slutty browniesLinda’s recipe from her blog, Carpool Goddess, is the perfect, easy, decadent dessert to make (as she does) with your child who’s home from college for the holidays. Be sure to make an extra batch so you can send the leftovers (if there are any) back to school with them. (Otherwise, they may never want to leave!)

When Mini-me and I feel like baking, rest assured it is always something chocolatey. Occasionally, we will email each other recipes to save for when she comes home from college and we have our bake-a-thon.

You can imagine my delight when she sent me the recipe for the most decadently delicious chocolate brownies I have EVER seen.

They’re called – kids, cover your ears!  – “Slutty Brownies,” because according to Rosie of  The Londoner, their clever creator, “they’re oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy.”

What more can you ask for?!

In our house, we’ve renamed them the slightly less provocative, “Naughty Brownies,” because the other doesn’t sit well when offering them to Grandma or the neighbor’s kids…from what we’ve heard.

What’s really exciting about this recipe is that you can get as creative as you wish with the middle layer. We added Oreos as the recipe calls for, but next time we’re going to add Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Other delicious alternatives: Thin Mints, thinly sliced Snickers (or your favorite candy bar), pretzels (if you’re craving salt), caramels, mini marshmallows, creamy/crunchy peanut butter, chocolate-covered coffee beans, chocolate raisins, and golden raisins (for the one or two health-minded folks in the group).

This super easy recipe calls for a box Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and Brownie Mix, eggs, oil, and Oreo Cookies.

For ours, we used our favorite Barefoot Contessa Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and Ghirardelli Fudge Brownie Mix.

We go beyond licking the spoon. The entire bowl is in danger.

Pat it down into a smooth layer in the Pyrex baking dish.

Add Oreos or your other favorite topping, then pour brownie batter to cover completely. And they are ready for the oven.
