woman-velvetIt’s baaaaack!

The quintessential 90’s velvet trend has circled back. From the runways to the movies, to the department stores, even home furnishings, you name it, it comes in velvet this season!

I often joke with my event crowds that no doubt they have a Stevie Knicks floor length velvet skirt hanging in the dark side of their closet. Well ladies, time to unearth it and style it like it’s 2016.

And if you have an edited closet, time to shop for a new crush – pun intended.

As always, take the trend and make it work for you. If you have never been a jumpsuit gal – don’t buy a red velvet jumpsuit. velvet3If you have never been a palazzo pant princess, pass on the purple beauties! If you commute daily outside in the elements, then perhaps a delicate velvet coat will not serve you well.

Pretty sure you are picking up what I am putting down, so let’s get shopping!

Let’s start with the new spin on velvet. In the past it was reserved for holiday, dressy pieces. This season it is showing up from bomber jackets to leggings!
