There is still time. A recent study has found that even moderate degrees of exercise at middle age will compress the time that someone is likely to spend being debilitated during old age. We may all get ill eventually, but exercise may help in leaving the earlier post-retirement years free of serious illness and, at least potentially, imbued with a finer quality of life. I don’t know about you, but that seems worth a few miles around the block.
