It’s well known in the fashion world that wearing neutrals head-to-toe looks sleek and chic and this is the season to create a head-to-toe look in neutrals like camel, off-white, khaki, olive green, or chocolate brown. Even better… mix different hues of the same shade together and the results can be even more inspiring! The key is pairing different textures together, or wearing an oversized piece on top with a structured bottom, or vice-versa. Finish this elegant look with shoes or boots (and maybe a handbag or scarf) in a similar shade.
If you are looking to get more use out of what you already have, simply gather all your neutrals together by color and start experimenting with new outfit combinations. If you realize that your closet doesn’t have as many neutrals as you thought, you may want to add a piece or two. Or you might just fall in love with one of these head-to-toe looks and just have to have it. Remember that neutrals are wardrobe basics and necessary for easy outfit-making.
I am highlighting the retailer Mango for this article. If you are unfamiliar with them, they were founded by Spanish-Jewish immigrants and have stores in many parts of the world, especially in Europe. I discovered them on a trip to London several years ago and love their European style at affordable prices. They offer free shipping over $50 to the U.S. as well as free returns.
