Remember when it was our parents who warned us about the evils that would beset us if we “shacked up”with our partners? “Why would someone buy the cow if they could get the milk for free?” According to an article in the New York Times, the proverbial shoe is on the other foot right now. So, is it our turn to read them the riot act?

“The number of people over 50 who cohabit with an unmarried partner jumped 75 percent from 2007 to 2016, the Pew Research Center reported last month — the highest increase in any age group.”
