Jewelry, chocolate, romantic dinners–they’re all nice touches that keep a marriage going, but studies have found that when couples write to each other about  their conflicts and arguments, those notes are what really have a positive effect on the relationships. So, “Roses are red, Violets are blue” is sweet,  but, “I don’t like it when you…” is better.
