Maggie Burns is a scientist who spent her academic life doing research on the blood vessels of the retina. A chance encounter with poetry in 1995 turned her to writing. She is a published poet and Pushcart nominee and writes an intermittent column for the local Winters Express and occasional articles for other venues. She does not write fiction because real life is more fantastic than anything one can imagine.
