Larry C. Kerpelman, Ph.D. is an award-winning freelance writer and editor based in Acton, Massachusetts. Upon graduating from The Johns Hopkins University at the tender age of 19, he went on to earn his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The University of Rochester. His writing has appeared in magazines and newspapers worldwide including The Boston Globe, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Journal of the American Medical Association, The Urbanite, and GreenPrints, among others. Harvard psychologist Jo Solet called his 2011 book Pieces Missing: A Family’s Journey of Recovery from Traumatic Brain Injury “at once both inspiring and informative,” and his story “Joanie” was recently published in the 2014 anthology Chicken Soup for the Soul: Recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries.
