Deborah Williams is Program Head of Literature and Creative Writing at NYU Abu Dhabi. She writes a biweekly column for The National, the leading English-language newspaper of the Emirates. Her work has appeared in Vogue.com, The International New York Times, and Inside Higher Ed, as well as in numerous academic journals. A long-time New Yorker, she moved with her husband, 2 children, and 8000 lego pieces to Abu Dhabi in 2011, for a year. Six years later, they're all still there (except for the lego pieces).
