Is it ok to wear jeans to Thanksgiving dinner?
I say yes….but.
I love my jeans – but there’s jeans and then there’s jeans. Frumpy tops and tee’s show little or no effort. Sneakers – or hiking boots – seem careless unless you were out in the garage deep frying the turkey and then you could show up in any way you damn please.
But, as a women at mid-life, layering is essential. Eating and drinking for hours in the same room with grandparents means the heat in the house will be up and you’re most likely going to need to shed a layer or 2 throughout the day.
Here’s some great layering looks that go great with your jeans for this Thanksgiving.
Love These open cold shoulder looks which you can add a pashmina to:
How about a great layering Cardigan by Bobeau. This one is at Nordstrom for $39.90 and I love the color.
Here’s an Eileen Fisher that looks really cozy but it’s pricey. $398 at Nordstrom or anywhere they sell Eileen’s stuff.
Or how about Ann Taylor’s Fringe Spotted Trim Cape for $98. This one is really.
This Cape made me chuckle but love the red Tartan. Hopefully no one will accuse you of wearing your table cloth to dinner. It does look cozy and campy and has a Thanksgiving look. You like it? By Aqua $88 at Bloomingdales.
