Sybil Sage Sybil Sage was among the first women to write television comedy, starting with episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Maude, Alice, Barney Miller and moving on to hour shows that included Magnum P.I. and Northern Exposure. She still writes material for Lily Tomlin, but has added a new career - designing functional pieces in the French mosaic style known as pique assiette.
