There’s Still Time To Get A Maxi For Summer

I’m waving my white flag again.  I’ve been resisting a maxi skirt.  But as has been the trend lately, Alison told me to get one anyway.

So I went shopping.  I’m pretty sure I tried on at least ten maxi skirts before settling on this one. I’m still not sure that I like how it looks on me.  I’m tall so I usually go for something shorter, and this feels like a lot of skirt.

However.  I don’t care what it looks like, because it is the most comfortable item of clothing I’ve ever worn, and I can wear it outside the house, unlike my favorite pajamas. It’s cool and forgiving, and perfect for hot summer weather. In related news, I saw two women at the grocery store today wearing pajama bottoms.  Really?  I should have told them about my maxi skirt!

I’ve had this denim vest for years.  It’s been sitting in my closet because I was never sure how to style it.  I really like it with the lime green shirt and the maxi skirt.

So fine, Alison was right again.  Why do I ever doubt her?  If I haven’t convinced you, here are some other cute ways to style a maxi skirt.

I love maxi skirts but I don’t wear them because I have a large middle section and I don’t want high light that.

I know exactly what you mean Marilyn – my midsection is the part I’m always trying to hide too. The cotton maxi skirts are very forgiving, so if you wear a longer top with them, they still look great!

This outfit is PERFECT for “modest wear” too. It reminds me of The Dugger women from 19 Kids and Counting. It’s nice to see pretty God loving people dress conservatively and their age.
